Description
How much do you really know about Vancouver's queer history? Come learn some of the stories they didn't teach you in school - what life was like in Vancouver for LBGT people in the past and how it came to be the way it is today. This workshop for youth is completely free and will start with a presentation by Vancouver queer activist Ron Dutton, including a question and answer period. After this, we will cozy up with some popcorn and warm apple cider to watch three 20 minute films commissioned by the Queer History Project: Director The Portside (by Daphne Marlat and Aerlyn Weissman), The Love That Won't Shut Up (by Ivan E. Coyote and Veda Hille), and Rex vs. Singh (by John Greyson, Richard Fung, and Ali Kazimi). www.igniteyouthfest.ca for more information.
