Ottawa will have a Village!
As of March 18, 2008 the Bank Street redevelopment plans did not include a designated village for the GLBTTQ community. This can change. We can have our voices heard. You can help my sending an email to the city.

It is important that you mention your concern that the plans DO NOT include a Village, do not include signs and that the light posts do not allow for a second banner which would be used to identify the area as the Village.

Further it is also important to tell them you support the Village, and want the city to designate Bank Street (from Nepean to James or any other landmarks you prefer) as such. For those that support us, comments on the Bank Street Redevelopment can be emailed to Luke Foley at City Hall. His email is luke.foley@ottawa.ca.

If you filled out a comment sheet at the meeting on March 18, and have more to add, please send an email to Mr. Foley. Be sure to send your emails before April 1, 2008.

You can show your support even further by joining the PTS and Village facebook groups – let’s show the city our community support!
