Lambda Foundation is Canada's national queer research and education scholarship foundation. Lambda Scholarships and bursaries are endowed at universities coast to coast, overseen by a national board of volunteers in Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, Victoria and Salt Spring Island where Lambda also funds high school scholarships.
In Ottawa, annual Lambda Foundation scholarships are given by Carleton University and University of Ottawa. Students apply directly to the university for the scholarships..
Funding for scholarships comes from hundreds of donors and from wills, bequests and estates.
Lambda Foundation also occasionally funds research projects and writers in residence; this year we gathered funds to help complete and publish research on human rights and development. We are starting a new national bursary in Medical Studies, for doctor training, at University of Western Ontario.
