Spotlight on Stalle: Radical Queer Semaine

People like Danny Goudreault (who describes himself as an artist with a small-cap a) will be there. I like a good humble feller, and I like this video. It's a bit of a time commitment internet-wise, logging in at 10 minutes. The vid is a Centre-Sud project featuring an overlay of voices taken from interviews with "Madame Diane" types. IZ NICE, U'LL LIKE EET, PROMISE.

Study: 83% of sex workers on Facebook

Read about that ish right here. I myself am a fan of a lady of the evening on FB, and I follow her updates on TWITTER.

83 percent of prostitutes have Facebook pages, and many turned to the social network before Craigslist got rid of the “adult services” category, according to Columbia University sociology professor Sudhir Venkatesh.

K, now for ce soir. 2110 Centre for Gender Advocacy hosts Rad Sex Ed: A series of 101 workshops for everyone. Here's the schedj.

trans-en-need

My friend Alexandre Baril has a message to share. He is a local, sort of (he's working on his PhD in Ottawa for the time being), celebrated trans and feminist activist.

He needs hormones for a friend. Someone who has been doing them on the black market for a while ran out. He needs a cool doctor who will prescribe that shit to him post-haste.

*I do not offically support getting drugs for hormones illegally. BUT, a man needs your help with this issue like today, ok? A life, or happiness at the very least, is at stake.

(RE?)teaching Gender and Sexuality

I love youth, and even more so QUEER youth. I've worked with youth for over 10 years and I fully support the power-with, not power-over framework. So let's hear what these dudes have to say... (warning, mega American).
